Bigs and Littles NYC

NCEKCF is thrilled to announce another new partnership with Bigs and Littles NYC. We wanted to introduce Bigs and Littles here:

The founder of the nationwide Big Sisters movement in 1902, Bigs & Littles NYC strives to transform the lives of children through one-to-one mentoring while strengthening entire families in hardship. Our goal is for all young people to recognize, reach for and achieve their full potential. Unlike other mentoring programs, Bigs & Littles NYC provides intensive support for parents, who are predominantly single mothers, dramatically increasing the likelihood for short and long-term youth and family success. Our youth programs consist of Community-Based Mentoring and Corporate Site-based Mentoring (World of Work) coupled with year-round Life Skills Programming focused on developing academic, health and wellness, and social emotional life skills.

In 2021, Bigs & Littles NYC served 702 children and families, including nearly 200 in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Our one-to-one mentoring program transforms the lives of young people, building hope and inspiring them to dream bigger, work harder to do well in school, and to plan for their future. We reach New York City children age 7 to 19 (providing services through completion of the critical first year of college) and their families, 80% of whom live below the poverty line and 70% are single parent households. 60% of our youth are first generation Americans and will be the first in their families to attend college.

NCEKCF is so excited to be working with a well-established and prominent organization in the New York area. We are excited to be beginning the partnership in support of their mentoring program, which helps support students in ways both inside and outside the classroom.
